RTÉ Television broadcast a special programme entitled "50 Years of Irish Sport Stars" on Sunday 30th December, 2007 on RTÉ One at 6.30pm. The documentary marks the fiftieth anniversary of the long running Texaco Sportstars Awards. Featuring 15 of Ireland's sporting greats from the last 50 years the programme hears their take on their own careers, dealing with disappointment, the role of sport in a changing Ireland and ultimately, what it takes to be a winner..
