The Texaco Sportstars Awards have long been recognized as the premier forum for celebrating the achievements of Irish athletes. In existence since 1958, the sponsorship celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2007. To mark this tremendous sporting milestone and to build on our involvement in Irish sport - we launched the Texaco Sportstars Bursary in that year, an initiative which was designed to enable us to invest in Irish sports stars of the future.
The 2009 Texaco Sportstars Bursary is now closed. Many
thanks to all the sports clubs who submitted entries. Winning clubs
were announced at a media reception on Thursday 22nd October.
